These are made from Indian Rosewood (Sissoo) The wood was cut such that about half of each bracelet is the pale sapwood and the other half is the darker heartwood. It's really gorgeous wood.

I'm a bit embarrassed to have this wood since it's somewhat endangered. It's not as endangered as most of the Dalberigia rosewoods but still, I would rather not use endangered woods at all. And as the other rosewoods get more rare, I'm sure this one will get over-used too. I bought the wood several years ago before I knew that the tree was in trouble. These days I check the endangered status of wood before I buy it.
