This bowl is made from beech wood found on some land owned by one of my friends. I used my torch to burn the bottom, following the grain around as it rises around the sides. I made the decorative pattern with a wood-burning pen. Working a chunk of wood this big on my mid-sized lathe was rather a challenge, but I like how it came out.
