This vase was made from some of the box elder wood I found. I really like that wood. It has some gorgeous darker spalting and pale red-ish streaks. I scorched parts of it with my torch to create some darker features. The green coloring is watercolor paint smeared directly from the tube into the wood. The wood is finished with tung oil. The glass liner inside the vase can hold water, so the vase can be used with fresh flowers.
